4 Tips for a Cozy Autumn Home

Autumn is here, which means the sunny days are over. Time for long sleeves and warm coats, but more than that, it’s time for some refurbishments. Update your home this autumn with some seasonal tips guaranteed to make your home feel cozy and welcoming.

Warm Colours

Autumn reminds us of amber fallen leaves and roasted chestnuts, it’s a season filled with warm earthy colours and textures. Adding rich colours like Chocolate Brown or Terracotta Burnt Orange will help to add warmth and tone to your home.

When decorating the living room, use Chocolate Brown as a rug for the floor and orange as cushions for the sofa, or you could use a Beige curtain with Terracotta Burnt orange for the cushions. If you want to spice up your bedroom this Autumn, we recommend you use Brown with neutral shades of beige and cream. Have a crisp white duvet for your bed, with a textured beige throw. Choose a mixture of cream and brown pillow covers to furnish the bed frame.

Cozy Lights

When you think of Autumn, you think of the warm colours as well as the warm lights.

Using Fairy Lights around your bedpost or mirror will add a warm glow, as well as a cute look to your bedroom. If you're looking for something to brighten up your rooms, B Sweet Gifts has a selection of beautiful fairy lights for you to choose from. Our Red Rosebud Fairy lights bring a soft cozy glow that will add a touch of warmth to the room.

Placing Candle lights on the coffee table in the Living room or on the Dining table will bring a feeling of tranquility and coziness, especially during the evening.

Micro lights are an adorable accessory to add to your home. Placing them over the fireplace or on a shelf will add a charming look to the house. Another beautiful idea is to place these lights into a glass vase with a candle.

Fruits and Flowers

Now that you got the colours and lighting, it's time for our favourite part of decorating...the accessories!

Here at B Sweet Gifts, we love decorating! The Autumn season can bring all sorts of inspiring ideas.

Pumpkins are a very well-known item for this season. Make the most of them by placing them in the corners of the rooms. They don’t have to be carved, keeping them simple makes a stunning statement piece in the room.

Another amazing tip is to get a glass vase and place Pinecones and Gourds inside, to give the room a nature-inspired feel. Find a thin Woven basket that is big enough to place your vase full of your pinecones and gourds. Place the basket on the coffee table or if you wish not to use a basket, you can leave the vase on its own or on a bookshelf.

We cannot forget the flowers! They make the best part of the decorating process. Sunflowers are a beautiful addition to any room, as they always bring a sense of joy and happiness. Fall Dahlias are also a beautiful choice. They are quite similar to sunflowers as they give a warm and radiating feel, but Dahlias come in a variety of light colours, such as yellow, orange, red, and pink.

Adding Sweet Scents

Finally, we cannot forget our fragrances. With your house radiating with sweet aromas, you will want to stay snuggled up with your favourite comforting candle, burning in the background. At B Sweets Gifts, we have our most loved Autumn candles, to make you feel more at home than ever.

Our Hot Chocolate Candle has a rich and warm fragrance, while the Tangerine & Cinnamon candle has a strong yet fruitful scent, and our Sweet Vanilla Candle gives a calm and warm effect on the body. Light these candles while you are reading your book or relaxing on the sofa, after a long day.

With these tips at hand, use them to create a warm atmosphere. Your home is a sanctuary, a place where you relax and recharge for the next day. When you take care of your home, you take care of yourself!

Share this with someone else, so they can make the most of their home this autumn.
